Brief history:

  • 1938 – Keysight traces its origins to the founding of the HP company in a garage by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard and the creation of their first product, the 200A audio oscillator. Walt Disney Studios orders eight audio oscillators to test and control sound equipment that will enable the groundbreaking multi-channel surround-sound system for the movie “Fantasia”
  • 1941 – the creation of the Harmonic Wave Analyzer 300A, the forerunner of modern spectrum analyzers.
  • 1943 – HP enters the microwave field with the Model A signal generator and a radar-jamming device.
  • 1956 – creation of the first oscilloscopes, the top models of which today have technologies unavailable to the closest competitors.
  • 1963 – The 8551 spectrum analyzer becomes the industry standard in the industry.
  • 1984 – The first 8510 vector network analyzer that can be controlled by a computer.
  • 1995 – creation of the first mixed signal oscilloscope.
  • 1999 – separation of measuring equipment into a company Agilent Technologies.
  • 2014 – separation of the company’s electronic measurement segment into Keysight Technologies.
  • 2018 – Keysight joins the S&P 500 as the only test equipment company on the list.
